Damals wurde die bis heute sehr beliebte Berliner Hütte gebaut, die sich auf 2.042 Metern Höhe befindet und als Ausgangspunkt für Gipfel- und Klettertouren etwa zum Schönbichler Horn (3.133 Meter) dient. Wer mehrere Tage Zeit hat, wandert den Berliner Höhenweg von Hütte zu Hütte und genießt die faszinierende hochalpine Bergwelt und ihre Gletscherlandschaft. Unten im Ort bietet eine Erlebnisausstellung im Naturparkhaus Einblick in ihre Flora und Fauna. Pistenspaß verspricht im Winter das Skigebiet Mayrhofen, das mit einem kostenlosen Shuttle zu erreichen ist.
